Not too long ago I was forced to endure an entire episode of Kasam Se. I am certainly NOT a regular viewer (especially of your show but of soaps also in general) and for good reason. I believe that Kasam Se is an insult to my intellect and also to everyone else who watches your show. The plot from what I have seen makes no sense what so ever. Family members are out to kill each other and not once have I ever seen any of the ‘good guys’ without tears in their eyes. I don’t know if you are intensely religious or just straight up ignorant. It seems like miracles occur in almost every episode. I recall one especially when ‘Bani’ is apparently unwell and in the hospital, at one moment she is sick and passed out like there was no tomorrow but soon after that she manages to get up, escape from the hospital and end up in the woods or some sort of secluded location. I don’t think you necessarily have a story line as such which is why you now have songs in your serials. I bet you’ve tried to pass that off as a new approach or whatever but I bet it makes anyone with a brain (assuming any of them watch your show) feel like you have no idea what else to put in your show. I understand that you actually have a very large audience, which is primarily why I am making this attempt to get across to you. If you appeal to so many people why not concentrate on something with more substance and come up with storyline with at least a little credibility. Why don’t you make something that would be enlightening and informative to the general public instead of just mindless and unnecessary drama? Western media is a lot more influential and thought provoking because Indian TV concentrates on meaningless entertainment. We have not really come up with anything truly original and exciting, at best just a cheap rip off of a successful western show. ZEE TV in an entertainment channel but I seriously think you guys need to get some fresh ideas and come up with something that can be considered as genuine entertainment not just absurd shows with weird sound effects every couple of seconds not to mention all the ‘shloks’ and ‘aartis’ you occasionally incorporate in your shows which I bet is another lame attempt for better fortune. With your ridiculous story lines I too would be praying for some divine intervention.
You don’t necessarily have to defend your tv shows, but I really would like to understand your side of the story. I bet you reply to fan mail then why not reply to mine. This is not to say that this is hate mail, I certainly don’t hate you. Its just your shows that concern me.

First of all, Kasam Se was my first venture into Indian tv serial viewing..Loved the character of Bani and Jigyasa because loved the actress Ashwin K. who portrayed Jigyasa. I did not care at all for the male charater of Jai Walia at all. To me he was just too confused as a man. Recently, with the introduction of the character of Aparajit Deb, I am pleasantly thrilled and enthused over this new character. Do you realise what you have on your hands with this character and actor..they are the perfict fit. I salute you for this entry and this decision. Indeed, I must say that you know your business inside out. With the character of Aparajit Deb..You/Zee/Kasam Se can only go upwards. Break into a new market audience as a lot of my male friends have started to watch this serial only for Aparajit Deb. The day starts with surya namaskar, innumerable rituals while worshiping to god, sending kids to school, then husbands to offices & getting down to the much awaited bitching sessions. And through all this, they are dressed up so amazingly that one might start thinking “Are they super women?” Well..you guessed it right. They are the much talked about adarsh bahus of the “so called” fanciful, morphed and the corrupt world created by Ms. Ekta Kapoor & her clones.
In today's world, when we are trying to get over our unreasonable customs & traditions and helping women rise above them, these so called TV soaps force us to look back and start thinking about them again? In a country where widow remarriage has been propogated since time immemorial, why is it depicted in the tv soaps that a widow should not give blessings to a newly bride because it brings bad luck? Why is it shown that if a woman cannot bear a child then she is thrown out of the house and the mother forces her son to remarry for a child and in many cases for a son? Why is it shown that if a girl from a middle class family is married in a rich family(which always remains the central theme for ekta kapoor), she has to face the brunt of humiliation for a long time till the time she can succumb to the whims & fancies of her mother in law and sister in laws who would be potrayed no less than a vampire loaded with jewellery with “bitching” as their only aim in life?
Why are the TV soaps portraying women in two extremes? Either as “tulsi” who is the embodiment of patience, compassion & affection and who would not utter a word even if her children throw her out of the family every other time? Or like “kamolika” who enters the family with the main aim of breaking the family? Are they the only two roles a woman can do? Have women become so aimless today? Women are worshiped for their ability to nurture and not for playing games with their families and sometimes their own children. I dont understand why Ms. Kapoor wants us to go hundred years back when we are trying to move forward? Why does she come up with serials like “kahaani ghar ghar ki” or “Kasauti Zindagi kay” and so on which go on proving the fact that relationships dont mater in a family? Everyone in the family enjoys an extra marital affair. There are no legitimate children and women normally end up getting married in same families maybe to different brothers. Why are serials named “Betiyaan...paraya dhan” reminding everyone that daughters are burdens? That always remains the central concept in these serials.
I wish to make an appeal with my folded hands to Ms. Ekta Kapoor and all those people who come with such derogatory concepts for a tv soap. The need of the hour is to move forward and not to go on reminding the public of all the social evils that we have left behind. Why are you delineating the concept of a house wife and limiting her role to gossiping, back biting, loaded with jewellery and selfishness? Today the middle class constitutes almost half of the population and it is this middle class that forms the educational intelligentsia of society. Then why are you portraying the girls brought up in middle class families as those who are unaware of the world outside them? Why are you emphasizing on the materialistic aspect of life so much that we start to forget our academic and family aspect of life which holds much more importance?
As an individual each one of us has to make an effort to bring about at least a small change in society in the best way we can. And by being a woman, that effort can be made even more strongly. So heres an appeal to Ms. Ekta Kapoor & her “clones” that please dont stop with your tv soaps, they are an entertainment to lakhs of people. But since it is an entertainment for so many people, prove yourself to be responsible by potraying what is beneficial for the society. And not for yourself & your never ending pockets!!!!

I have one major complain about your soaps. They are very noisy with pathetic camera work. Doing close up of all the people and making noisy music dhoom-dhaanh etc. It is so irritating. I have never ever heard anyone who likes this camera work and stupid music. I don't know why you haven't realized that. Since your are thequeen of Hindi Serials all other serial makers are copying you making the entire Televison experiencce irritating and pathetic. Please change the camera man and all those noisy and irritating musci. that will deifnitely improve the quality of your serials.

1.if u bring serials which r more
realistic to masses coz its masses who see u serials coz the classes r busy sipping their martini.
2. u can come up with shows which have ages of mother as mothers n not as gf's yaar.
3.if u r humble enough to take suggestion i wsh to give them ...
4.i wsh u have shows..with old tv charm n a bit less gloss.
5. u can come with shows like
..HOSTEL life but realistic,
..ON LIFE IN MIDDLE CLASS SOCIETY BEFORE N AFTER THE SWAY OF MOBILE PHONES
..SHOWS ON WILDLIFE(ON EXPERIMENTAL BASIS TGH ..SOMETHG THAT BALALJEE HAS NOT VENTURED)
..SHOW ON ONE YR TIME FRAME SHOWING A GUY'S STRUGGLE TO MAKE IT TO THE IIT'S.(U CAN ACTUALLY HAVE A BACKDROP OF MUMBAI GUY MAKING IT AGAINST ODDS TO THE IIT'S)
..OR U COULD HAVE THE STORY OF OLD PARENTS WITH KIDS MIGRATED TO USA N LIVING LIFE AS A COMPROMISE WITH MONEY BUT NO HAPPINESS.
..BUT PLZ DONT SHOW SERIALS OF THE OLD FORMULA OF SMALL TOWN PERSON MAKING IT BIG HERE IN MUMBAI .ITS BORING NOW.
..U CAN COME UP WITH TELE SERIES WITH"LIVE IN RELATIONS" WITHOUT
CANDY FLOSS STYLE OF DIRECTION AS A SMALL SERIES COZ THIS COULD CONNECT WITH MANY SINGLES WORKING IN MANY INDIAN CITIES.
..OR U COULD COME UP WITH AN UNUSUAL STORY OF TRUCK DRIVER'S
JOURNEY FROM SOUTH TO NORTH N HIS EXP.
..U COULD COME UP WITH A STORY OF MAN REMEMBERING HIS GRANDMOTHER

Today, I came across this website and blog accidentally. I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, Kasam Se was my first venture into Indian tv serial viewing..Loved the character of Bani and Jigyasa because loved the actress Ashwin K. who portrayed Jigyasa. I did not care at all for the male charater of Jai Walia at all. To me he was just too confused as a man. Recently, with the introduction of the character of Aparajit Deb, I am pleasantly thrilled and enthused over this new character. Do you realise what you have on your hands with this character and actor..they are the perfict fit. I salute you for this entry and this decision. Indeed, I must say that you know your business inside out. With the character of Aparajit Deb..You/Zee/Kasam Se can only go upwards. Break into a new market audience as a lot of my male friends have started to watch this serial only for Aparajit Deb. I say your are nothing short of brilliant here to ponder into a new market audience and yet keep the young female veiwer. A briliant move by yourself, in this character and this new revenge track storyline. Simply brilliant.

AN APPEAL TO EKTA KAPOOR & HER "CLONES"
The day starts with surya namaskar, innumerable rituals while worshiping to god, sending kids to school, then husbands to offices & getting down to the much awaited bitching sessions. And through all this, they are dressed up so amazingly that one might start thinking “Are they super women?” Well..you guessed it right. They are the much talked about adarsh bahus of the “so called” fanciful, morphed and the corrupt world created by Ms. Ekta Kapoor & her clones.
In today's world, when we are trying to get over our unreasonable customs & traditions and helping women rise above them, these so called TV soaps force us to look back and start thinking about them again? In a country where widow remarriage has been propogated since time immemorial, why is it depicted in the tv soaps that a widow should not give blessings to a newly bride because it brings bad luck? Why is it shown that if a woman cannot bear a child then she is thrown out of the house and the mother forces her son to remarry for a child and in many cases for a son? Why is it shown that if a girl from a middle class family is married in a rich family(which always remains the central theme for ekta kapoor), she has to face the brunt of humiliation for a long time till the time she can succumb to the whims & fancies of her mother in law and sister in laws who would be potrayed no less than a vampire loaded with jewellery with “bitching” as their only aim in life?
Why are the TV soaps portraying women in two extremes? Either as “tulsi” who is the embodiment of patience, compassion & affection and who would not utter a word even if her children throw her out of the family every other time? Or like “kamolika” who enters the family with the main aim of breaking the family? Are they the only two roles a woman can do? Have women become so aimless today? Women are worshiped for their ability to nurture and not for playing games with their families and sometimes their own children. I dont understand why Ms. Kapoor wants us to go hundred years back when we are trying to move forward? Why does she come up with serials like “kahaani ghar ghar ki” or “Kasauti Zindagi kay” and so on which go on proving the fact that relationships dont mater in a family? Everyone in the family enjoys an extra marital affair. There are no legitimate children and women normally end up getting married in same families maybe to different brothers. Why are serials named “Betiyaan...paraya dhan” reminding everyone that daughters are burdens? That always remains the central concept in these serials.
I wish to make an appeal with my folded hands to Ms. Ekta Kapoor and all those people who come with such derogatory concepts for a tv soap. The need of the hour is to move forward and not to go on reminding the public of all the social evils that we have left behind. Why are you delineating the concept of a house wife and limiting her role to gossiping, back biting, loaded with jewellery and selfishness? Today the middle class constitutes almost half of the population and it is this middle class that forms the educational intelligentsia of society. Then why are you portraying the girls brought up in middle class families as those who are unaware of the world outside them? Why are you emphasizing on the materialistic aspect of life so much that we start to forget our academic and family aspect of life which holds much more importance?
As an individual each one of us has to make an effort to bring about at least a small change in society in the best way we can. And by being a woman, that effort can be made even more strongly. So heres an appeal to Ms. Ekta Kapoor & her “clones” that please dont stop with your tv soaps, they are an entertainment to lakhs of people. But since it is an entertainment for so many people, prove yourself to be responsible by potraying what is beneficial for the society. And not for yourself & your never ending pockets!!!!

I have one major complain about your soaps. They are very noisy with pathetic camera work. Doing close up of all the people and making noisy music dhoom-dhaanh etc. It is so irritating. I have never ever heard anyone who likes this camera work and stupid music. I don't know why you haven't realized that. Since your are thequeen of Hindi Serials all other serial makers are copying you making the entire Televison experiencce irritating and pathetic. Please change the camera man and all those noisy and irritating musci. that will deifnitely improve the quality of your serials.
